This week on Project Runway designers got their first trip to Marie Claire. They got to choose shoes from the Fashion Closet. However, they chose shoes in the order they correctly answered trivia. This exposed holes in some of their knowledge. Not knowing who coined the term black dress, really? It was Coco Chanel, and all of the top three this week were some variation on that classic. The bottom three were a hodgepodge of bad ideas. Alexandria, Helen, and Ken were in the top three. Alexandria did a soft lacy look to balance out her above the knee gladiator boots. Helen did a black dress that was very well fitted with a capelet that Tim Gunn said was appropriate for Kate Middleton. It was paired with boots with a silver sparkly toe. Ken did a black peplum dress with leather shoulders that he dubbed his look. It was paired with a strappy bootie. All three of looks could have won in other weeks. Helen royal chic won this week though. Miranda, Bradon and Jeremy were the bottom three. Miranda did red plaid pants and a white leather jacket with red leather tuxedo flats. Too Christmassy according to Nina. Bradon had a brown circle skirt with a top meant to imitate boiling water with gold sparkly tuxedo flats. It was very matronly. Jeremy chose great knee high boots, but the had a disaster of an outfit. Giant sweaters are a bad idea and gold camisoles are not your saving grace. However, having won previously is. Miranda was out this week on Project Runway. Next week will be a field day, literally. Where does this lead? Catering to the 60% of men who are unable to get an optimal fit through traditional footwear and the 35% of men who have a half size or greater difference between their left and right feet the new patent pending Timberland(R) PreciseFit(TM) system takes an entirely new approach to fit.(1) By going beyond length and width to address forefoot volume using an innovative footbed insert system, PreciseFit technology delivers a perfect fit every time. Extensive research involving 4,000 subjects by Timberland's Invention Factory revealed that the greatest dimensional differences exist in the girth of the forefoot, making it the primary driver of proper fit. Traditional fit paradigms focus on length and width rather than girth, forcing consumers to either cram their feet into shoes that are too tight, or trade up to longer shoes that leave a looser fit with gaps. This alleviates one fit issue while creating another. The PreciseFit system addresses this challenge head on, allowing consumers to customize their fit through a simple yet revolutionary system of forefoot inserts. Each pair of shoes comes with a set of inserts of varying thicknesses that lock on to a removable footbed, creating optimal volume in each shoe and allowing for differences between left and right feet. The thicker insert minimizes volume in the shoe, while the thinner insert adds volume. This tailored fit works in conjunction with the Timberland Smart Comfort(TM) system to give men an unparalleled experience in terms of fit and comfort. "No two feet are alike, not even your own," said Rob Koenen, vice president and global director, Timberland men's casual footwear. "Two men with a size nine foot could have dramatically different sized feet, yet traditional fit paradigms would have them trying on the same shoe. With the PreciseFit system, Timberland has found a way to provide a true, customized fit for real people's real feet. We've virtually eliminated compromise when it comes to fit." In addition to its profound consumer benefits, the PreciseFit system also presents significant benefits to retailers. This translates into better stock positions for fewer missed sales; and servicing previously hard to fit consumers will no longer present a challenge. In addition, on floor inventory management will be significantly enhanced, as sales associates will only need to bring one box onto the floor to fit a range of sizes for a consumer. The Timberland(R) PreciseFit(TM) system is the latest in a series of innovations to come out the Timberland Invention Factory, a fully staffed team dedicated to carrying on Timberland's rich tradition of invention, innovation and industry leadership. During the pilot, overall inventory turns increased nearly two fold, and sales revenues increased by 80% as compared with similar styles. "The retail pilot proved to us that this is a viable program with real benefits for consumers as well as retailers," said John Pazzani, vice president and general manager, Timberland Retail and E Commerce. With the PreciseFit system, we were able to find a comfortable fit for both feet for virtually every customer, resulting in phenomenal conversion rates. In addition, from an inventory perspective we were able to stay in stock longer, minimizing walked sales. Overall, this was absolutely a win for both the consumer and the retailer." PreciseFit technology will be featured in Timberland's new Outlier Series of men's footwear, to debut in August 2006. Available in rugged and refined styles in sizes 6/6.5 through 15/15.5, Outlier will be introduced across 22 skus at a suggested retail price ranging from $130 for oxfords to $140 for chukkas. Consumers can also call 1 800 445 5545 to find their nearest retailer. The launch of the Timberland(R) PreciseFit system will be supported with a robust, integrated marketing campaign that will include sales associate training, in store materials, grassroots marketing and public relations. Timberland (NYSE: TBL) is a global leader in the design, engineering and marketing of premium quality footwear, apparel and accessories for consumers who value the outdoors and their time in it. Timberland(R) products are sold worldwide through leading department and specialty stores as well as Timberland(R) retail stores. Timberland's dedication to making quality products is matched by the company's commitment to "doing well and doing good" forging powerful partnerships among employees, consumers and service partners to transform the communities in which they live and work. Men Nike Free Run 2 Blue White Orange,Bicycle riding is a fun and enjoyable way to travel, stay fit and explore the environment. Here are a few things to consider when shopping for a new bike: Determine bicycle type. Before you select a bicycle, you first need to consider how exactly you will use the bicycle. Is it for recreational use to ride around town, or for fitness training and getting in shape? Are you interested in racing, or do you want a bicycle for mountain biking? If you are interested in a dual purpose bicycle, then you will want to consider a hybrid bicycle. Regardless of your answer, you need to understand that this step is critical as it directly influences the type of bicycle you will consider choosing when you are ready to purchase one. Determine your budget. Now that you have determined what type of bicycle you need, the next step is to consider your budget. How much money are you able to spend on the bike? Before setting an exact amount, you need to keep in mind that there may be other items you will need to purchase along with the bicycle, such as a helmet, extra parts, water bottles, pumps, shoes, camping gear or other bicycle accessories. Make a list of all of the necessary items you will need, and then you will know how much money you can spend on the actual bicycle itself. Research the market. After determining your budget, you will then need to educate yourself about the current bicycle market. As with any product, new bicycles are continuously being released and it is essential that you familiarize yourself with the bicycle type you need to purchase. One of the best, and most accurate, ways to research the market is with the Internet. Get local advice. If you have a bike shop in your area, then in addition to online research, it is suggested that you go down and get some advice from local bike experts. Explain to the salesman the type of bike you are looking for and your different concerns. Consider other key factors. Some additional things to consider when you select a bicycle are if it's adjustable, the comfort and safety. Most bicycles these days are manufactured with these factors in mind, but you do want to be sure that they are present in the model that you are purchasing just in case.

There are lots of people saying "I tried and it works!" but then there are other people saying "nope," just not as loud. I have repeatedly tried (whatever Einstein said about that) with a pair of smelly shoes before, and not a single time did it become any better. I ended up throwing them out and buying new ones. (I should have thought of trying to heat them, I guess. I wonder if it a bad idea to put them in the oven.) Then again, my smelly shoes might very well have been an extreme case where a single freezing wouldn help. If the hypothesis is true, it would be better to thaw and re freeze them, so that the water expands several times and more and more of the bacteria are killed each time. Men Nike Free Run 2 Blue White Orange Trading at a P/E of 24.3 is outrageously high for this specialty retailer whose sales revenue is highly dependent on what is left of teenagers' fickle discretionary spending dollars. Hot Topic (NASDAQ:HOTT) owns two retail concepts: Hot Topic and Torrid. Hot Topic is in the business of selling music related apparel T shirts, hats, shoes, jewelry and other trinkets, often licensed by popular musicians. Hot Topic tailors its products for shoppers 12 22 years old. Torrid sells apparel, lingerie, shoes and accessories to plus size females generally between the ages of 15 29. Torrid's weak same store sales numbers indicate that selling to such a specific demographic is risky. Even though HOTT's popularity has passed its peak, it has persisted in reinvesting practically all of its cash flow into store expansion not a good idea when a recession/depression is upon us and consumer dollars are tight. Hot Topic has no debt, but it has $405M in operating lease and purchase commitments. Included in this amount, it must spend $58 million in contractual rent and $56 million in inventory purchases. Rent costs the company about 8% of sales a heavy burden for a retailer with 35% gross margins. Analysts are forecasting a very robust 50 cents per share in earnings for the year ending January 2010. Considering the threat of Wal Mart (NYSE:WMT) and other retailers eating into Hot Topic's Twilight (that horrible vampire movie) merchandise sales, analysts should lower their earning estimates to match the rough retail environment. Recently, HOTT granted stock options options to purchase 570k shares at a strike price of $9.56 per share to its senior management team. This amounts to 1.3% of the entire company's value given away to management as compensation. This is a severe dilution relative to the value added by management. Looking at the daily charts, there are obvious divergences in volume and stochastics as prices slowly climbs up, which I suspect is due to a short squeeze. However, I don't expect the stock to stay hot any longer, HOTT should tank sooner rather than later.
